SUPERVISION
Supervision is an ongoing open ended professional relationship where the youth pastor/leader reflects critically on his or her ministry and their own role as a leader. The underlying agenda is that of helping them grow in their personal and professional competency and may focus on any or all of the following:
  • Personal: To consider issues related to the youth pastor/leader’s personal and professional development.
  • Programmes: To discuss structure and programmes and development strategies for improvement.
  • People: To reflect upon pastoral issues related to young people or relational issues with parents or leadership.
  • Problems: To discuss any other specific dilemmas or difficulties that require attention.

COACHING
Coaching is a limited term contract where the youth pastor or leader brings specific issues or problems to the coaching relationship for the purpose of exploring answers and receiving outside suggestions and advice. Coaching is committed to on a session by session basis and may focus on any or all of the following:
  • Personal: To consider an issue related to the youth pastor/leader’s personal and professional development.
  • Programmes: To discuss structure and programmes and development strategies for improvement.
  • People: To reflect upon a pastoral issue related to young people or a relational issue with parents or leadership.
  • Problems: To discuss any other specific dilemma or difficulty that require attention.

ADVOCACY
YouthTRAIN offer advocacy at times in which a youth pastor or youth leader needs assistance in negotiating issues with the wider church. Our experience in youth ministry allows us to present an informed case on your behalf. The focus of this advocacy may be any of the following:
  • Employment conditions.
  • Performance appraisal.
